Valerie Joseph-Darden is from Philadelphia, PA. She graduated from Temple University with a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology in 1981. She has spent her career working as an engineer and/or manager for a large computer corporation. She has 2 sons from her 1st marriage, 2 step-daughters, and had a baby girl who was born during the time this book was being written. At age 44, she began to realize how often other people relate to her own experiences. The powerful emotional responses she has often received from sharing her poems encouraged her to publish a few of them.
